Cialis® is a prescription drug that has been licensed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). The medication works by blocking a chemical that reverses an erection by allowing blood to flow out of the penis. In previous clinical studies, up to 78 percent of men reported that Cialis allowed them to have successful intercourse. It is taken as needed, usually one hour before sexual activity; in most cases, Cialis starts working within an hour. Side effects associated with Cialis most commonly include headache, indigestion, and back pain. Men with cardiovascular disease or significant risk factors for heart disease may have an increased risk for serious side effects while taking Cialis.
