Cialis Erectile Dysfunction Medicine

Cialis® (tadalafil) is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat impotence (also known as erectile dysfunction, or ED). It is also approved to treat enlarged prostate symptoms. As an erectile dysfunction medicine, Cialis works by inhibiting the chemical process that causes blood to flow out of the penis. More blood in the penis leads to an improved erection.

Not every man can take this erectile dysfunction medicine. For example, Cialis may not be right for men with certain heart conditions, such as angina (chest pain), stomach ulcers, or sickle cell anemia.

In addition, some men are more likely to experience serious side effects with this drug than others. That's why it's important to tell your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have and all medications you are taking -- even nonprescription ones.
