Who Makes Cialis?

An erectile dysfunction medication, Cialis® (tadalafil) is manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company. Cialis is also approved for the treatment of enlarged prostate symptoms. At this time, only brand-name Cialis is available for sale. There are no generic versions approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), despite what you may find on the Internet.

In clinical studies, Cialis has been shown to help men:

  • Achieve and maintain an erection during sexual activity
  • Experience greater frequency of orgasms
  • Have a harder erection during sexual activity
  • Have increased satisfaction with, and enjoyment of, intercourse

Commonly reported side effects include headache, indigestion, and back pain. Men with cardiovascular disease or significant risk factors for heart disease may have an increased risk for serious side effects while taking it.
