Obtaining ED Medications Discreetly

How to Identify a Safe Online Pharmacy

Unlike a fake online pharmacy, a legitimate online pharmacy will require a prescription from your healthcare provider. You will have to mail them a prescription, or your healthcare provider can call or fax them a prescription.

While safe online pharmacies may offer medications at a lesser price than a local pharmacy, their prices will not be significantly different. These pharmacies do not have access to medications that you can't get at a local pharmacy, and they will not advertise that they can get you a generic version of a medication that is only available in brand-name form.

Legitimate online pharmacies are located in the United States and licensed in the United States. They operate under the same rules and regulations that traditional pharmacies do, and they provide access to a licensed pharmacist who can answer questions. These pharmacies are obligated to protect your personal and financial information and have safeguards in place to guarantee the safety of this information.

There are two ways to be absolutely sure that you are dealing with a safe online pharmacy. You can find a list of Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) at http://www.nabp.net/programs/accreditation/vipps/find-a-vipps-online-pharmacy. VIPPS have been verified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and are legitimate.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also offers a service to determine if a pharmacy is licensed in the United States. This service can be accessed at http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/BuyingUsingMedicineSafely/BuyingMedicinesOvertheInternet/BeSafeRxKnowYourOnlinePharmacy/ucm318487.htm. To use this service, click the name of your state or the state in which the pharmacy is located. You will be redirected to that state's Web site, and you can search for licensed pharmacies by name, location, and so on. If you have to specify the type of license that the pharmacy has, it may be listed as a "mail-order pharmacy."
