Horny Goat Weed Cautions

Horny goat weed (Epimedium) is an herbal supplement claimed to be beneficial for a variety of different uses, including sexual enhancement. Although this product is available over the counter, it would be wise to discuss horny goat weed cautions with your healthcare provider before you begin treatment.

It is recommended that you talk to your healthcare provider before using horny goat weed supplements if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have any allergies, or have any chronic or severe medical condition. It is important to know that the dietary supplement could theoretically increase the risk of bleeding (including dangerous internal bleeding). This risk is probably most significant for people with a bleeding disorder or who take "blood thinner" medications. Horny goat weed may also cause dangerously low blood pressure, which is probably most important for people who already have a problem with low blood pressure.
