Horny goat weed (Epimedium) is an herbal supplement most often used for sexual enhancement, although some people take it for other purposes as well. It is believed to contain several different active components; one of the compounds found in the plant is a phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor, much like Viagra and other similar prescription impotence medications. In general, however, there is little scientific evidence to suggest that the supplement is indeed effective for most uses.
