L-Arginine Drug Interactions (Cont.)

L-Arginine Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when L-arginine is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Blood Pressure Medications
Combining L-arginine with a high blood pressure medication may lower your blood pressure too much, possibly causing dizziness, lightheadedness, or other problems. If you take blood pressure medicine, check with your healthcare provider before taking L-arginine, as your blood pressure may need to be monitored more closely.

Erectile Dysfunction Medications
Theoretically, combining L-arginine with some erectile dysfunction (impotence) medications could cause dangerously low blood pressure. Do not combine L-arginine with these medications without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.

Nitrates
Theoretically, combining L-arginine with nitrate medications could cause dangerously low blood pressure. Do not combine L-arginine with these medications without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.
