Levitra (Cont.)

When Does Levitra Start Working and How Long Does It Last?

Many men wonder, "How long do I have to wait for Levitra to work?" The time it takes for Levitra to start working will vary depending on the individual. In clinical studies, Levitra began to work in about one hour. How long Levitra continues to work will also depend on the individual. In most cases, Levitra can work for up to four hours.

Levitra: When and How Do I Take It?

Here are some general considerations for when and how to take Levitra:

  • Levitra comes in tablet form. It is taken as needed, usually one hour before sexual activity. However, it is not recommended that you take Levitra more than once in a day.

  • While it is recommended that you take your Levitra dose with a glass of water, you may take it with or without food. Taking Levitra with a high-fat meal may decrease the amount of Levitra in the blood.

  • Do not break, chew, or crush the Levitra tablets.

  • For Levitra to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. Levitra will not work if you stop taking it.

Levitra and Dosing

The dose of Levitra your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:

  • Your age
  • Other medical conditions you may have
  • Other medications you may be currently taking.

As always, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
