Levitra Uses

Levitra is used primarily to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), or impotence. "Off-label" Levitra uses include the treatment of Raynaud's phenomenon and pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the artery that supplies blood to the lungs). Levitra is not approved for use in women, newborns, or children.

An Overview of Levitra Uses

Levitra^® (vardenafil HCL) is a medication that has been licensed to treat erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, can be a total inability to achieve erection, an inconsistent ability to do so, or a tendency to sustain only brief erections. Essentially, erectile dysfunction is the repeated inability to get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse.

How Does Levitra Work?

Levitra works by blocking the chemical that is responsible for reversing an erection. When this chemical is blocked, more blood can remain in the penis. More blood in the penis means an improved erection.

Levitra is not approved for use in children, newborns, or women.

Off-Label Levitra Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Levitra for something other than the conditions listed above. This is called an "off-label" use. Some off-label uses of Levitra include the treatment of:

Pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the artery that carries blood to the lungs)
Raynaud's phenomenon.
