Yohimbe Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when yohimbe is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Blood Pressure Medications
Combining yohimbe with a high blood pressure medication may decrease the effectiveness of the blood pressure medicine, potentially causing high blood pressure. If you take medication for high blood pressure, check with your healthcare provider before taking yohimbe.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Because yohimbe may have similar effects as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, it should not be combined with an MAOI medication.
Phenothiazines can increase the risk of serious yohimbe side effects. Do not take yohimbe with a phenothiazine medication.
Do not combine yohimbe with stimulants, as dangerous and potentially life-threatening side effects could occur.
Tricyclic Antidepressants
Tricyclic antidepressants can increase the risk of serious yohimbe side effects. Do not take yohimbe with a tricyclic antidepressant.
