Miscellaneous Panax Ginseng Interactions
There have been reports that combining Panax ginseng with caffeine (or any other stimulants) may have an additive stimulatory effect. It has also been reported that Panax ginseng may decrease the effectiveness of furosemide (Lasix®), a diuretic. Taking Panax ginseng with phenelzine (Nardil®) has been reported to cause problems such as insomnia, headaches, and manic symptoms.
 
Panax ginseng could interfere with immune-suppressing drugs, such as those used to prevent organ transplant rejection. If you take an immunosuppressant, check with your healthcare provider before taking Panax ginseng.
