An Overview of a Yohimbe Overdose
Yohimbe is an herbal supplement that is often used for a variety of purposes (although it is most often used for sexual enhancement). It is not known what exactly to expect with a yohimbe overdose, although the effects will likely vary, depending on the
yohimbe dosage and other factors.
If you happen to overdose on yohimbe, seek immediate medical attention.
Symptoms of a Yohimbe Overdose
Even though yohimbe is a natural substance, it is possible to take too much of this herb. In the few reported cases of a yohimbe overdose, the following overdose symptoms were reported:
Theoretically, other serious problems could also occur. These may include dangerously low
blood pressure (hypotension), kidney failure, paralysis, and extreme agitation.
Treatment for a Yohimbe Overdose
It is not known how best to treat a yohimbe overdose. If the overdose was recent, your healthcare provider may administer certain medicines or place a tube into the stomach to "pump the stomach." Treatment (if necessary) will also involve supportive care, which consists of treating the symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose. For instance, if an arrhythmia occurs, medications may be given to control the irregular heart rate.
It is important that you seek medical attention immediately if you believe that you may have overdosed on yohimbe.
